At Copper Run, we’re adding a full-time Buy-Side M&A Analyst to our Cleveland office to support the execution of buy-side engagements across a wide range of industries. You'll work side-by-side with seasoned dealmakers, clients, and company leadership to help deliver outstanding outcomes in the middle market.

This is more than just a back-office role—it's a front-row seat to the deal process, from sourcing through close.

What You’ll Do

You’ll play a key role in supporting your deal team across all phases of the M&A lifecycle:
  • Conduct market and industry research to support M&A strategy and explore potential acquisition targets
  • Research and evaluate acquisition targets that fit within the scope of the client’s acquisition strategy
  • Conduct direct outreach including calls, emails, and mail to generate deal conversations with executives and senior leadership
  • Input, maintain, and update target and prospect data within the CRM system to ensure accuracy and completeness
  • Develop compelling marketing materials (letters, teasers, pitch decks etc.)
  • Participate in introductory conversations with business owners and clients, capturing key details, needs, and goals
  • Initiate, manage, and organize financial and organizational diligence items
  • Analyze and interpret financial statements
  • Respond to client and target inquiries with professionalism and urgency
  • Assist in training and guiding interns

What You Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, business analytics, finance, accounting, economics, or related field
  • 1–3 years of M&A, consulting, public accounting, or finance experience
  • Strong communication skills, including comfort with outbound calls
  • High attention to detail and organizational ability
  • Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and Word (plus an eagerness to master new tools)
  • Experience working with CRM platforms
  • Ability to prioritize, multitask, and work well under deadlines
  • Strong team player mentality—collaborative and positive
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship, now or in the future
